The requirements for manufacturers and distributors of electrical appliances are increasing: from registration and labeling to disposal and compliance with international regulations. Implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) often involves significant administrative effort and legal challenges. We help you meet your obligations efficiently, legally, and sustainably.

WEEE National (DE-DE)
Want to register your electronic devices for Germany? Then your product distribution falls under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). In Germany, the foundation EAR is responsible for implementing the WEEE Directive.

WEEE International (INT-DE)
Want to import your electronic devices into Germany? Then you’re also subject to the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). The foundation EAR oversees the distribution and proper disposal of electronic waste in Germany.

WEEE International (INT-INT)
Want to register your electronic devices in the EU and globally? Then you must comply with the international WEEE Directive, which is implemented in each country through national laws—such as Germany’s ElektroG. This means you must follow each country’s specific regulations.
What obligations apply to electronics manufacturers and distributors?
As a manufacturer or distributor of electrical and electronic equipment, you are subject to various country-specific regulations around the world. These aim to ensure regulated and eco-friendly disposal of devices. To remain compliant, you must fulfill the following obligations:
- Self-assessment: Identify device types and quantities
- Registration: Register with the relevant authority (e.g., Stiftung EAR)
- Guarantee: Provide financial security for take-back and disposal
- Management: Organize collection, transport, and recycling processes
- Take-back & Recycling: Set up and coordinate legally required systems
- Labeling: Mark devices with symbols and manufacturer details (WEEE labeling)
- Consumer information: Provide clear return and disposal instructions
- Display registration number: Include on invoices and official documents
These obligations vary by country and can be complex – Deutsche Recycling GmbH is here to support you with implementation.
